A 3000m race at Ashford, Kent, at 1.30 pm on Saturday 3rd.

Sussex track championships at Crawley on Sunday 4th. I have no more details at present ; people could almost certainly compete as guests if they want.
Closing dates : remember the National 10k and Inter-Counties Championships at Victoria Park, London, on 11 September? Closing date is 5 September and they are saying ‘strictly no late entries’.
Telly : don’t forget Jo goes at 1 am on Wednesday in the ‘morning session’. The way they are doing it, it looks as if the live coverage will be available here (let the ad finish, and then click on ‘as live’), up until the ‘evening session’ gets shown.
Training Saturday : 10k-ish. Meet Tilsley Park front gate at 8:30 am. Have light breakfast only, say a banana an hour before, and something to drink.
Training Monday : Tilsley Park is open so we will do drills and a 2000m time trial. Meet 6:45 as usual.
Training from Tilsley Park on Monday 22 August : about 10k on the Radley Lakes loop. Why bother ?

Racing at the weekend : there’s a mysterious event advertised as the ‘SEAA U/15 and U/20 Inter-Counties Championship’ at Tilsley Park on Saturday 27th. No details yet on the SEAA website. Also on the 27th, there is a 3000m walk in the Birchfield Open meeting at Alexander Stadium, Birmingham – time unknown.
Training at the weekend : it is a Bank Holiday so we could have a longer session on Saturday, Sunday or Monday . Leave a comment or mention it at a training session if interested.
PS Congratulations to Judy – PB and a gold medal at the BMAF 20k championships in Coventry !!
Channel 4 have live coverage of the World Championships. Walks are all on at 8 or 9 in the mornings, which unfortunately for UK walks fans is midnight or 1 am our time.
Mens 20K – 1 am Sunday 28 August
Womens 20K – 1 am Wednesday 31 August
Mens 50K – midnight Saturday 3 September (i.e very early Saturday morning)
It looks like they are also going to have highlights available, after each event, on the internet – here.
Just to let you know, that we may have guests from Hillingdon AC at our training sessions in future.
Also, we have an open invitation to join Hillingdon’s walkers for their training sessions. Their weekday sessions are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and take place from the club headquarters, at 206 Bury Street, Ruislip, HA4 7TJ. This is about 54 minutes drive from Oxford according to ‘Google Maps’, but obviously it may take longer as their sessions seem to start around 6:15 – 6:30 in the evenings. They also do longer weekend sessions in Burnham Beeches and Northwood when there isn’t a race on.
Andy Cox sends out a weekly email about the sessions, which I will include on this site, or if you want to get details from him direct, I can pass on his email address.
Training from Tilsley Park on Monday 15 August : drills and 200m technical repetitions. Time trial postponed for a couple of weeks.
