Congratulations to Gemma, completed her victory in the Midlands Winter League 5k series yesterday!

Monday 25th November : 10k-ish session, done steady or as a fartlek.

Wednesday 27th : technique session and short repetitions on the track.

Training at the weekend : those not racing should do a distance session. Anyone want to suggest anything ?

Racing at the weekend : Saturday sees the combined Enfield League 10k and BMAF 20k championship race at Hillingdon, at 1 pm. Last Enfield League race of the current year. If you want to enter the BMAF 20k and haven’t already done so, get a form to John Hall TODAY – entry details in the Enfield Walker.

2014 National Championships

The main National Senior and Junior championship races for 2014, plus a few other races of international significance, are listed here.

The main one still missing, of course, is the 100 Miles, which is organised by the Centurions rather than by British Athletics, England Athletics or the RWA.

The Inter-Counties race has not been announced yet but is likely to be the 10k championship race at Hillingdon on 19 July.

A notable new addition is a national indoor championship, to beheld over 3000m in Sheffield in January. Announced just a few days after I declared in a post that there were no national senior indoor championships! Doh!

Week Commencing 18 November 2013

As a couple of people are returning from minor injuries, there will be options of 5k-ish or 10k-ish easy each day this week.

Plus for those still trying to stay sharp for competitions :

Monday 18th : tempo session on laps of the estate.

Wednesday 20th : 800m repetitions on Copenhagen Drive.

Racing at the weekend :  last weekend of the Midland Winter League, at Tamworth on Sunday. 5k at12:30 and 10k at 2:15.

Week Commencing 11 November 2013

Training on Monday 11 and Wednesday 13 November : Let’s meet up at the normal place, normal time on Monday, and tell me what you have done over the last week. (Or email me sometime today.) Then we’ll decide how best to use this week’s training sessions.
