Starting the serious buildup to Budapest this week . . .

Monday 17 February : 800s intervals on Copenhagen Drive.

Wednesday 19th : Tempo session on laps of the estate.

Training at the weekend : if not racing, we should do a daylight distance session. Anyone want to suggest anything ?

Racing at the weekend : On Saturday at 1 pm there’s the second race in this year’s Enfield League. 5 miles at the Donkey Lane venue. Plus, I believe there’s an Inter-Area Masters Indoors race, but that’s invitation only.

Racing at the weekend : All indoor 3000m races. On Saturday, there is the SVCAC/VAC championship race at Lee Valley, London. On Sunday, there is the Birmingham Games at the National Indoor Arena, with the walk at 10 am. This race is the third in the UK Winter Race Walk Challenge but you may need to have entered by now.

Monday 3 February : 10k-ish steady or fartlek.

Racing at the weekend : Various options. On Saturday, there is the final meeting of the Cambridge Harriers Winter League series at Bexley, Kent, with a 5k race for seniors at 2 pm. Details were in the October Enfield Walker. On Sunday, the Midlands Area Championships take place at Stourport, with a 5k race for women and a 10k race for men. Guests from outside the area will almost certainly be able to race. Entries by Wednesday – details here. There is also a 1 mile race in the Essex Indoor Championships at Lee Valley on Sunday – but you need to have entered by now.
