In case you hadn’t noticed, the World Championships are on, and Tom goes in the 20k walk at 1:30 am UK time tomorrow, Sunday. BBC2 are covering the athletics at that time but with the heptathlon long jump starting at 2:00 they are bound to cover that – I guess some walk coverage might be sandwiched in between that and the compulsory chitchat or might be on the red button. So stay up to watch or set your recorder !! Alternatively, complete coverage of the whole championships is available on YouTube here. The women’s 20k is at 1:30 am on Friday 28th, and the 50k at half past midnight on Saturday morning.
Congratulations to Judy, another bronze medal with Ann and Fiona for a team competition in the World Masters Athletics Championships in Lyon, France – this time in the 20k race last Friday ! Also to Noel, another frustrating 4th place in the 20k, but again beaten only by new entrants into her age group.
