Training during the week : Bank holiday Monday : 10k round Radley Lakes. Please note, Tilsley Park closes at 8 pm. Wednesday : threshold session on laps of the estate.
Training at the weekend : if not racing, should do a distance session. Any suggestions ?
Racing at the weekend : getting busy again ! On Saturday there’s the annual Moulton 5 miles in Suffolk, part of the Enfield League, details in the latest Enfield Walker. Three events on Sunday : the Olympic Trial 20k race in Leeds, with supporting 10k, 5k and 3k races – details here but it’s 9:30 am and there are time standards on all races. Plus the Midland Masters T&F Championships, I guess over 3000m, at Nuneaton, and the Sussex and Surrey 3000m track championships at Ewell Court, both of which I would expect to accommodate guests.
Racing during the week : on Wednesday at 7:50pm, an open 3000m track race at Norman Park, Bromley.
And don’t forget that our friend and neighbour Suzanne attempts the 311k Paris-Alsace race between Wednesday and Saturday. Her Facebook support page is here.
Training during the week : I am working in London all week and most unlikely to be at any of the training sessions. Suggestion is that as in recent weeks, a 10k-ish session on Monday, and a threshold session on Wednesday. Daytime training may be more convenient than the evening so check times with Noel or Judy.
Training at the weekend : should do a distance session. Any suggestions ?
Racing at the weekend : no sign of any open races within reasonable travelling distance.
Local track racing starts week : Monday : 2000m races in the SCVAC (Vets) League, which has been moved to Horspath because the work at Tilsley Park is incomplete. Races start at 6:30 pm. Wednesday : Oxfordshire T&F Championships and Open 3000m race in the Town v Gown match at Iffley Road, Oxford. Be ready from 7:15 pm.
Training at the weekend : Should do a distance session. Any suggestions ?
Racing at the weekend : none any closer than Manchester. Best wishes to all our friends competing in the European Masters Non-stadia Championships, in Portugal!
“It takes 40-60 days and a lot of repetition to change your neural map and for new technique to become an automated process. You should practise for at least 30 minutes a day for the first seven to 10 days and then three times a week to reinforce new pathways.” Interesting article about various aspects of neurological training from the June 2016 Runners’ World, here.
Here. News, reports (including Podebrady, Ancona and Hillingdon), plenty of results, and fixtures.

Continuous coverage is promised here. I had to install some software to get it to work, but it all looked legitimate stuff to me.
According to the IAAF timetable, Emma goes in the Junior Womens 10k at 8:30 our time on Saturday ; Callum, Cameron and Guy (the only full team entered by British Athletics) go in the Junior Mens 10k at 9:35. Tom and Dom go in the Senior Mens 20k at 3:30 pm, and Bethan in the Senior Womens 20k at 5:15 pm.
The 50k starts at 8:00 on Sunday, with no British entrants but it will be a historic race as the first IAAF-sponsored 50k to accept both male and female participants. Sex is not identified in the IAAF’s start lists but they contain at least one woman, Erin Taylor-Talcott of the USA, and on PBs she is far from the weakest on the US team.
